Heading Home

We are on the last leg of our journey home from Sudan after 17 days of amazing adventure. We cannot wait to share with you the stories of our time there!

For those of you who have not heard Eric and I are off on an adventure this summer...we are going to the Sudan, July 3rd-19th. We are going with a team made up of Radiant peeps (Eric and I, Travis, Tara, Ezra, Lindsay, Vicki, and Gabe) and some friends from LA. Here is a bit of the story...

What are we doing while we are there: bringing aid (medical supplies, school supplies etc.), sharing the gospel, praying for the sick and hurting, visiting schools and doing assemblies, working with the people who are digging the wells for us, encouraging local pastors, doing worship events, and loving the people.

Our tentative itinerary looks something like this: LAX to London spend night, London to Nairobi spend night, Nairobi to Kampala, Uganda spend a couple days, mini plane to Moyo, Uganda, truck ride into the Sudan spend 8 ish days, back to Uganda, back to London and then home.

Please pray for: safety and health for the team, finances to get there (we need about 10,000 more dollars for the team), peace for the rising conflict in the areas we will be traveling, God's heart for Sudan's people, unity for the team, a demonstration of God's power and love for the people we meet.

Eric and I traveled down to LA last night to watch the LA Galaxy play. It was so much fun. If you look closely you can see Beckham stretching in the first picture.

So after 3 years I finally graduated!! I now officially have my Masters in School Psychology and some new found free time. So I am taking suggestions for new hobbies since I have realized that I haven't had time for much extra in a long time! I am finding much enjoyment in being able to come home after work and say, what should we do tonight?!

If anyone has yet to make a drive into the foothills I am highly recommending it! Right up past Rocky Hill has been our new favorite spot. It is bright green with tons of wildflowers. So, if you haven't gone yet, go before it turns brown and hot.

Our church is hosting a tour, "Rock for Water" that will be raising money for wells in Sudan. Travis, John Mark McMillan, and Aaron Strumpel are touring CA doing concerts to raise money. Spring Up O' Well Concert

Our friend Nick Hernandez and his brother Ben Hernandez and Nathan James are playing a concert at Radiant on January 25th at 8:00pm. All proceeds are going to building wells in the Southern Sudan. It is going to be real fun and worth the $10 to get in, so come one, come all.

Soccer Days of Old and New

We have a renewed passion for soccer lately and we thought it was worth blogging about because maybe it would inspire you to dig out your tall socks, lotto jacket, and join us on the field. Although these soccer days are not as glorious as my days on the Lucky Leprechauns (because there are no oranges at half time or capri sun to look forward to at the end of the game) it feels darn good to get some exercise and kick the ball really hard. So if you feel inspired to play with us, come out and join us EVERY SUNDAY AT 3:00 AT NEIGHBORHOOD CHURCH. Or, If you have any skills in the area of sewing felt, maybe you can make us a banner?

Two weeks ago my best friend Travis, who is the Pastor of the church we planted almost 3 years ago, and Ryan got back from the Southern Sudan. They went on a scouting mission to see if there were opportunities for our church to be involved in the rebuilding of this war ravaged region. This is a quick look at some of what they saw and the people they met.
